THANKSGIVING SUNDAY HYMN FESTIVAL
November 24 | 10:30 Worship
The choirs have been busy rehearsing for our Nov. 24th Thanksgiving Sunday Hymn Festival. In August, the congregation was invited to select their three favorite hymns out of a list of 45 hymns. The service on Nov. 24 will center around the top ten hymns that were selected . These hymn arrangements will be presented by our Chancel Choir along with our Carillon Ringers, organ, piano and brass. Do you want to know which hymn got the most votes? I guess that you’ll have to join us in worship on Nov. 24 to find out. We hope to share this service of thanksgiving with you, through the music of the church, as we give thanks to God for His many blessings.

Christmas Collage Concert
“There’s a Song in the Air” is the title of one of the Advent hymns in our hymnal (no. 249). The text of this hymn portrays the excitement with a “tumult of Joy” over the birth of Jesus. Three of the verses include the text “While the beautiful sing” indicating those who sang of Jesus’s birth. But I think that the most significant text, speaking as a musician, is the line in the third verse; “…and the song from afar has swept over the world!” In December, churches, schools and communities sing of Jesus’s birth. I know, they also sing of Frosty, Rudolph and Santa, but we as a community of believers, and certainly as your Music Ministry, we share the story of Jesus’ birth through the music that we present. In addition to worship, one of the best times to share the music of the season with you is at our Christmas Collage Concert. This annual concert will be presented to you on December 8 at 3:00 in the sanctuary. Music for the season will be shared by the Chancel Choir, Belle Canto, Journeymen and Carillon Ringers with piano and organ. Following the concert there will be a dessert potluck in our Fellowship Hall. You are invited to bring your favorite holiday dessert to share. This concert is a wonderful gift shared to you by our Music Ministry. We hope that you will share it with your family and friends. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday. December 8 at 3:00. There will be a “Song in the Air”
